Buffalo State International Professional Development Schools (IPDS)
Buffalo State’s International Professional Development School - Dominican Republic is part of a growing School of Education initiative to provide global experiences for our teacher education candidates. We seek to enrich the personal and professional lives of future teachers by helping them develop a capacity for thinking and acting with an understanding of global issues and initiatives, and to prepare them to be leaders in their communities and schools.
|
Faculty and staff collaborate with schools and agencies across the globe to develop teaching, volunteering, and service learning opportunities for undergraduate and graduate education students. We have developed programs in six countries, as well as opportunities for students to engage in the local Buffalo-area community within a global context (e.g. Global Book Hour, Community Academic Center).
