Said no one ever.
The start to the trip hasn't been the most ideal so far. Due to the weather and blizzard entering Buffalo, we found out that our flights Tuesday morning were cancelled bright and early into the day on Monday.
Enter panic mode.
Of course I think of the worst possible situations and then the thought of not even going to DR crossed my mind. Thankfully I checked Facebook and the message was sent to everyone in the group. Tamara instantly posted that she was going to take care of it. My blood pressure and tension levels decreased. I called all my family members and notified them that I was no longer leaving on Tuesday morning. My heart sank and i had to get ready for work.
All Monday morning, I checked my phone for an email and the weather report. Finally right before the start to the dinner shift, there was light at the end of the tunnel. Tamara had sent an email and we were rescheduled to leave Buffalo Thursday morning.
My mood instantly changed and I was happy. Of course I would rather be in the Dominican right now in the sun, but I will take my safety as well as everyone else and the snow in order to arrive in the Dominican safely.
The only plus side to this trip is now I have extra time to pack, to finish my laundry, and to shovel the driveway.
This will be my new motto starting Thursday:
Hasta luego 😎
